April 20 (Reuters) - Dollar General Corp on Thursday named Kelly Dilts as its new chief financial officer effective May 1, succeeding John Garratt.
Dilts, who joined the discount store chain in July 2019, has served as senior vice-president of finance and has 30 years of experience in retail financial and strategic planning, the company said.
Dollar General said Garratt will continue as president until his retirement in June.
The appointment of the new CFO comes at a time Dollar General is struggling with surging costs and a decline in customer traffic at its stores amid elevated levels of inflation. (Reporting by Ananya Mariam Rajesh in Bengaluru; Editing by Shounak Dasgupta)
