(Updates with Amazon status page comment)
June 13 (Reuters) -
Amazon Web Services was down for thousands of users on Tuesday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
More than 11,000 users reported issues with accessing the service, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources including user-submitted errors on its platform. The outage may be affecting a larger number of users.
"We have identified the root cause of the elevated errors invoking AWS Lambda functions, and are actively working to resolve this issue" the AWS status page showed on Tuesday.
AWS Lambda is a compute service that lets you run code without provisioning or managing servers. (Reporting by Samrhitha Arunasalam and Kannaki Deka in Bengaluru; Editing by Maju Samuel)
