WeWork (WE) is on the verge of total collapse. Now it's threatening even tougher times for real estate in New York City. Lea Overby, Barclays Managing Director, Head of CMBS Research, joins Yahoo Finance Live to discuss the potential impact of WeWork's collapse on the New York real estate market.
Overby said, "One of the problems facing Manhattan and many cities across the country is already we are at record-high vacancies ... so this just adds one more straw to the proverbial camel of higher vacancies across the country."
Overby added, "If WeWork does indeed file for bankruptcy ... it could leave a very large hole that the landlord might then have trouble filling."
