Aug 14 (Reuters) - Evercore has appointed Barclays' veteran Carolyn Crooks as a senior managing director in the financial sponsors group, as the investment banking advisory firm continues its hiring spree.
Crooks spent 21 years at Barclays, where she last served as managing director in the bank's financial sponsors group. She started her career as an industry coverage analyst at Lehman Brothers, according to a statement.
Financial sponsors group is an in-house team that operates within investment banking division and focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with a broad set of alternative asset managers on a global basis.
Crooks appointment is the latest in the flurry of executive moves from large banks to boutique firms amid a slowdown in deal-making and capital raising.
Evercore in the recent months has hired more than half a dozen senior bankers from bigger investment banking rivals such as Goldman Sachs.
