Sept 12 (Reuters) - First Solar Inc said on Tuesday that renewable energy firm Longroad Energy has increased the orders for the company's solar panels by 2 gigawatts (GW), taking Longroad's total procurement to about 8 GW.
The order for advanced thin film solar modules, expected to be delivered between 2027 and 2029, builds on an existing 3.7 GW agreement between the two companies.
Longroad has developed or acquired renewable energy projects with a capacity of 4.3 GW across the United States. It sold its 108 megawatt solar project in Virginia to utilities firm Dominion Energy earlier this year. (Reporting by Mrinalika Roy in Bengaluru; Editing by Shounak Dasgupta)
