Sept 18 (Reuters) - UBS on Monday appointed Richard Casavechia as Head of Americas for Global Banking, according to a memo seen by Reuters.
The bank in August announced an overhaul of its investment banking division, including naming the unit's M&A chiefs, in a bid to expand in the United States and better compete against Wall Street firms.
Casavechia will assume this position in addition to his role as vice chairman, Global Banking, according to a memo whose contents were confirmed by a company spokesperson.
The creation of this role follows a number of other key investments that have already been made to expand the size and scope of the global banking footprint, the memo said.
